TRiO brings you some of the best and most sought after examples of beer styles for purchase in our market or to try in our restaurant.

In our Market

Our market’s beer section features more than 500 labels from around the world!  TRiO’s focus is on craft beer made using traditional methods, often enhanced with a dose of modern creativity and ingenuity. Our extensive selection includes local and NC favorites, domestic craft brews from many of the nations’ most sought after breweries, and international offerings from Belgium, Germany, the British Isles and more. Not sure which to choose? No worries, just mix your own six pack and enjoy.

Draught Beers from our Restaurant

We offer the Outer Banks’ biggest selection of beers on tap, with 24 selections to choose from.  TRiO Flights are three ounce servings of four different beers that deliver a great opportunity to try a new beer. And, we occasionally have a cask-conditioned beer selection pumped manually via a beer engine, in traditional British pub style.

Our Beermonger – John Minnich

Following a 20 year career in Management Consulting, with way too much time spent in pubs and bars in the US and England, John insists that ‘beer must be done right’. What does right mean? Patiently poured in the proper glass, with the proper head, paired with good food and conversation, and served with a smile.

John’s love of beer started early, when his father Reynold would encourage him to take a sip of his ice cold Michelob or Original Coors. From there, he became an early adopter of the craft beer movement, inspired by stints working in the Pacific Northwest and London, and he began to homebrew in the early 1990s as a matter of necessity. What else can you do when you can’t buy the craft beer you crave?

John’s personal tastes lean toward old world style brews, sours, and barrel aged beers. He enjoys pairing beer with food and is passionate about beer history and ‘bringing beer back to the table’. Check out some of his musings on assorted craft beer related topics in his ‘Beyond IPA’ blog.
